Veterans’ Voices Keeps Winning Awards
Congratulations to The Fayette County Record for success in several newspaper award contests that recognized Veterans’ Voices, the 40 interviews I compiled with Fayette County veterans. These heroes deserve accolades like this and more!
Kudos to Preserving Your Family History Class Participants
What a wealth of stories the members of this class wrote in just eight weeks. We explored new ideas and perspectives that they put into practice with energy and enthusiasm. Congratulations and thank you to each participant for contributing to our success. I’m looking forward to meeting a new group of students this fall in this continuing education program at Blinn College – Schulenburg, Texas.

The Weimar Literary Guild Was A Great Audience!
Calling it a “must read,” the Weimar Literary Guild was very generous in its praise of Same Moon, Same Stars, the life story of German war bride Renate Meiners. When I spoke at a recent club meeting, I shared stories about the relationship that Renate and I developed as I gathered her memories and then read from her biography. Please contact me if you’d like me to make a presentation to your club.
World War II Veterans Are Still High On My List
I am delighted to have a short list local World War II veterans whom I am looking forward to interviewing. History comes to life in their priceless stories.
